Welcome to the non-Western Biblical Research site.

The purpose of this research is to investigate how readers of the Bible from non-Western cultures can bring some new insights or propose alternative interpretations to well-known Scripture stories and doctrinal passages that have been understood mainly through Western lenses. We want to learn from people coming from cultures, still alive today, that in some aspects may resemble the cultures of the Bible, regardless of their current geographical location. A second consequence of reading and presenting the Gospel only in Western terms, may be the unnecessary rejection of the Gospel due to cultural differences. We want to investigate if this has been the case in your native cultural setting.
